Sequoia Personality Disorder Service

The Sequoia Personality Disorder Service helps people with complex mental health needs to address, understand and control self-defeating behaviour to create an improved quality of life and maintain independence.

What services do we offer?

The service works with a specific group of people who experience Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD) or Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) as well as other complex needs that cannot be met by other services.

The Sequoia Personality Disorder Team is made up of individuals from various disciplines.  All are specially trained in an approach to treatment built around a co-operative relationship. Our team will work with you to try to understand the behaviour in order to begin to control it.

Our job is to help find out what triggers the behaviour and how individuals might act to cope in a more self-affirming way. This is a difficult and serious task and one that really tests individuals’ determination to change things, however we offer a range of options to support the service user including giving access to skills training and a drop-in centre.

We also run courses for professionals supporting people with Borderline Personality Disorder.
