Learning and Development

We are committed to on-going development and education of our staff and recognise that high quality development and training underpins excellent service user care.

We offer all our staff a wide range of opportunities; both in-house and in partnership with external training providers. All service areas have staff whose role involves on-the-job training and skill development, preceptorship, assessing competence and/or clinical supervision to support on-going development and learning.

More formal in-house programmes are popular and varied. They are mapped to both the company’s aims and objectives and the Core Skills Framework dimensions to assist personal development planning for staff. Where possible and appropriate, multi-disciplinary education and training is encouraged.

In addition to ongoing support through on-the-job supervision, we run an annual performance development review that allows all employees to talk to their manager about their performance.  Employees are encouraged to identify their own training needs linking them to the current and future needs of NAViGO.

 

Induction

All new members of staff, including bank staff, receive a structured induction programme that includes relevant mandatory training as well as essential information about working with NAViGO.
