NAViGO’S National Mental Health Conference 2019 takes place in March, with a number of leading professionals from the world of psychiatry descending on North East Lincolnshire. Professor Wendy Burn will be among those to speak at the event.
Professor Burn will participate in day one of the NAViGO National Mental Health Conference on Wednesday 27 March. She will give the welcome address for the day’s agenda, with day one involving a Showcase of NAViGO’s Older People’s Mental Health Services with a focus on ‘Sharing Positive Practice’.
Professor Burn is the President of the Royal College of Psychiatry – a post she has held since 2017 and will continue to hold until 2020. She became a consultant old age psychiatrist almost 30 years ago and continues to work on a part-time basis in a community post.
With her main clinical interest being in the treatment of dementia, Professor Burn sits on national groups for the planning of dementia care. She was also appointed as co-clinical Lead for dementia for Yorkshire and the Humber Strategic Clinical Network between 2013 and 2016.
Both days of the NAViGO National mental Health Conference will be loaded with leading national and international speakers from the world of mental health.
