NAViGO awarded place on The Sunday Times Top 100 Not-For-Profit Organisations To Work For 2019Bradley King
For the fourth year in succession, the Grimsby-based NHS mental health provider NAViGO scooped the prestigious Sunday Times award in the ‘Top 100 Not-for-Profit Organisations’ category this year, being placed 90th nationally.
Employees surveyed said that NAViGO was a great company to work for and the results overall revealed a very happy and motivated workforce. Staff, who are all given an opportunity to purchase a share of the company when they begin employment, always go the extra mile for their service users and fellow team members.
Each year, hundreds of organisations from a wide range of industries use the Sunday Times employee survey to measure the engagement of their employees. The responses are collated and combined to produce an overall engagement score for each organisation. Only the organisations with the highest level of overall employee engagement qualify.
Chief Executive, Jane Lewington commented: “At NAViGO we are delighted to win this award and be recognised for the fourth year running; we feel that it is a wonderful achievement and reflects the dedication of our staff and volunteers, who work in a really challenging environment.
“It reflects our ambition to make NAViGO a great place to work and to provide services we would be happy for our own families to use.”
Creating a culture where people love their work, NAViGO boasts a variety of wellbeing initiatives including keep fit Fridays, staff choirs, cycling groups and an in-house occupational health service; all accompanied by a multitude of local and national health discounts from gyms and yoga studios to spas, hairdressers and holistic therapy centres.
In addition to the impressive ranking, NAViGO are also celebrating their recent award of ‘One to Watch’ accreditation from Best Companies, the employee engagement specialist. The accreditation which NAViGO have been awarded is due to achieving a high score on Best Companies’ survey, which examined the ins-and-outs of company life. The survey reveals how employees really perceive their work environment.
Some of the results from the staff survey included; 64% of staff said they were happy with the pay and benefits they receive at NAViGO and 71% of staff agreeing that the experience gained from NAViGO is valuable for their future.
Jonathan Austin, CEO & Founder of Best Companies said, “I would like to congratulate NAViGO on their achievement. Best Companies have been producing the Accreditation standard since 2006 to acknowledge excellence in the workplace.
“Organisations like NAViGO have continued to focus on their employees and have been rewarded with an engaged workforce who tell us that this is a best company to work for.”
