Liaison and Diversion is a specialist team that offers screening assessments, signposting and support to access treatment to people who have offended who have been identified as having a vulnerability.
What services do we offer?
Our Liaison and Diversion Team is a dedicated service which is funded by NHS England to address health inequalities for vulnerable people who enter the criminal justice system. The service identifies those with an identified vulnerability and we offer short term intervention and signposting to other longer-term services. Our primary aim is to reduce re-offending rates and engage individuals in services which will address their identified needs. The service is for those aged 10 years and above.
We work into the police custody suites and the magistrates court, and we work closely with the Youth Offending Service and probation service to provide a comprehensive service. Our staff have a variety of experience in the criminal justice system, social care and mental health care.
