We did it again! NAViGO had not one but three teams nominated for the coveted and prestigious national awards by the Positive Practice in Mental Health Collaborative on the 12th October 2017.
The three teams were nominated in three different categories; Sequoia Therapeutic Community in the specialist services category was up against Southwark council and Leeds & York PFT. Springboard were in nominated for the improving access & outcomes to housing group award, competing with Bradford district care trust & Bradford council CCG’s.
Both these teams were honoured with highly commended recognition for their hard work and commitment. The star award of the night went to the WHISe team who were overall winners in their category for the Integration of Physical & Mental health, sponsored by NHS England.
Not only were they short listed to the top three from over 50 NHS, private and charitable organisations they stole the show by topping both Sussex partnership foundation trust and Tees Esk and Wear valley NHS foundation trust which is also a 5 Year Forward View vanguard site for the NHS.
The WHISe team was established in 2014 and is currently lead by Anthony Ackroyd and supported by Laura Cook and Jen cordy. This team of three individuals run the service on a part time basis along with their other duties and responsibilities. They provide physical health checks for service users under CPA and lifestyle advice. Anthony Ackroyd, WHISe service lead said, “It just goes to show that with a little effort and dedication we can achieve great things. I am sure you will all take inspiration from this news and congratulate the teams for their achievements. Well done to everyone, we are proud to be NAViGO!”
